Home from a day’s skiing or walking, hang up your boots on the boot warmers and collapse in one of the comfortable sofas with glowing heat from the wood burner or wander outside to enjoy the sun on the South facing terrace. Once recovered the kitchen is well equipped to assist you serving gourmet meals in the adjacent dining room or perhaps a cold beer before you head out to the town’s restaurants. The kitchen is safe for little ones, as it is enclosed with access only from the dining room and as Jane is a keen cook, it is well equipped and the knives are sharp, there is a drawer of spices and herbs; she has served some memorable dishes!

Up the charming slate and timber staircase, are four bedrooms, each with en-suite bath or shower room and toilet. They are all individually designer furnished; there are two unique four poster beds, probably unlike anything you have slept in before. Whilst the third bedroom has two 3’ singles that can be joined to form a super king sized bed complete with a spectacular headboard covered in artisan material from Uganda. The remaining triple room has old wooden walls and pretty wrought iron beds. There is also a sofa bed in the basement for the occasional unexpected guest.

The children will by now be enjoying the basement games room, with table football, a Wii games console with Wii Fit, TV and DVD player whilst the adults are in the Sauna and later watching the stars from the cedar wood outdoor hot tub. With views up to Criou, it is a totally different experience to any other hot tub, as the aroma of the cedar wood permeates the air giving a wonderfully soothing, relaxed feel. Just imagine watching the fireworks on New Year's Eve with a glass of bubbly in the hot tub! If the teenagers need to still wear off excess energy, send them off to the ice rink opposite whilst keeping an eye on them from the bedroom balconies.

On your arrival you will be met by us or our local managers to ensure you settle in quickly, with beds made up and fresh towels in the bathrooms. We provide the essentials, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, loo rolls, tea and coffee and some luxuries including bathroom toiletries, towel robes for the hot tub, homemade preserves and a bottle of local bubbly to enjoy in the hot tub when you arrive. We recommend you use a local equipment supplier who comes to the chalet and we will assist with ski passes and lessons so you can be out enjoying yourselves as quickly as possible.

End of stay cleaning and laundry is included in all peak season rentals but out of season we charge locally according to how many guests. In the Winter season we have a Friday changeover as this enables guests to benefit from the weekend slopes which are often less busy, the rest of the year it is usually Saturday but can be flexible.

Why is Chalet Le Kiwi Vert so special to US?

Our family have been visiting the valley for over 18 years and bought our first chalet 10 years ago. Any time of the year, we ALL find even after a few days we are relaxed and refreshed and we would like you to share our enjoyment and our home.

In 2010 we acquired a neglected chalet in Samoens and with help from local craftsmen we transformed it into Chalet Le Kiwi Vert. The renovations were environmentally friendly, the result is a comfortable home where we are sure you will have a memorable holiday.

In conjunction with Gaelle and Graham, our local managers, we will help you settle in and make the most of Samoens and its surroundings during your stay whether it be a long weekend or a 2 week Summer break.

Martin and Jane
